This is a clear sign that I should take more pictures. Because when there are pictures, there are stories to go with them. Sometimes even good stories.
There are pictures, as it happens, of many different snippets of the last month. Snapshots, as it were. I'll put them up sometime in the next <mumble> days, probably just in a gallery with commentary. Somehow the summer garden doesn't seem like current events when we're getting near the first frost.
-- We had an anniversary. Look at us, all grown up and stuff. Fortunately, we have an inordinate number of friends who are spawning (whelping sounds so crude) -- this helps us remember how young and carefree we really are.
-- Football season started. I spent the first weekend soaking in college football like a sponge that's soaking in something wet. After I got saturated -- enh, I'll check up on it. Good thing, too. I think JoAnna will be saturated for the next several years.
NU's 2-2, which is where I rather expected we'd be. Granted, we lost the two I thought were gimmes, and won the two I was worried about. This is why I was in the band.
I'm optimistic about the team's future. Not this year particularly -- it's odd that so many things about the program are new and trying to figure out how to make things work. We've also shown flashes of having a defense, which is a Good Thing.
I like Fitz. I think he can take us places (warm places, hopefully), and I trust him to understand NU and to do right by the school. And that's almost more important than winning. Almost.
More (relatively) soon. I forget how much I amuse myself when I'm writing.
